Re: Tale of Shirt Tails

Photos all found via Tumblr 'all white tag'

"See it all started during the end of summer, when I noticed I owned nothing of the white variety. Many of fashions elite were instagramming their white on white at white parties or just for casual wearing, while what white did I own? Could I mimic this? White jeans? White skirt? White t-shirt? White button up? Nope. Nada. I shopped around. Zara's were alright - meh not thrilled. H&M had a classic white button up on sale for $7.90. I said thats what I wanted right - a classic white button up. But you know me, how utterly basic could I really get and still feel like I found the one - not very.

Then the 90% Yoox sale happened where I saw this Maison Martin Margiela white collared shirt. You see he looks all fine and classy, then looky there - he doesnt have sleeves - the scandal! This I deemed pretty darn cool while my main concern remained, how would these arm-flaps flop once under cardigans or jackets? Great for summer, but forget wearing a crewneck over him during the winter because people may think you're hoarding marshmallows on your sides. Moving on.

ASOS - who I've come to realize I really don't give enough credit to. (it's not because they recently birthed the perfect shoe for me, but because it's really true.) First they produced the large bow blouse which I sent earlier and then now this guy - which is similar to the Margiela one - but look - SLEEVES.  (note: It will say it is sold out but that's only because the last one remains in my cart -don't worry so do like 23 other things that I don't actually plan on purchasing; a large and overwhelming cart total will deter me and I know this because it is a proven fact.)"

My mother has been vaguely questioning me for weeks now and more recently I've been obsessively looking. Today she was very upfront about it asking,"okay, whats the deal with white shirt?" So as you may have guessed, this is indeed another direct email to my mother. Only this time I conjured a response from her via email rather than just a text asking "did you buy them?"

After her doubt and confusion over my recent hunt, she stated, "I have to admit one of my favorite all-time looks is a nice crispy white blouse with some well faded jeans. You will note an abundance of white blousery in my closet. Never goes out of style!"

Her response led to overwhelming FOMO. Now I feel I've been missing out for years, all the more reason to keep looking for the perfect white shirt.
