While normally I'm plagued with the desire to wear all black, 50 shades of olive, or all denim in an ode to my canadian heritage, lately I've been fevered (literally - I'm ill) with white, all white everything. The thing is, I'm prone to spilling things and really don't trust myself to buy anything white, especially expensive and white, it's just a heartbreak waiting to happen. I went through a slump of hating myself for buying inevitably the same garments over and over again, so on black friday I bought white Isabel Marant jeans courtesy of Barneys Warehouse. They went from triple digits to double digits and claimed to be unlike anything else I own. They're wide leg, so roomy, and made for a mammoth - which is good, because I need to have them tailored as well as figure out what in the world I'm going to wear with them. So in the meantime...

"How many euros? asked my mother, after falling for my oh-so-persuasive emails which detailed the aspects of attaining gold, Golden Goose sneakers emblazoned with my initials. After careful explanation that these sneakers were indeed meant for me, as why would an Italian brand broadcast the abbreviations of Canada or California? (Please disregard the related 'NY' style) These were meant for me, meant for me.  So suddenly, the prospect of owning these geese became so real that a flock of thoughts overwhelmed me. Hear me out: these sneakers are a commitment, and I'm not sure if I'm there yet. Mostly though, would I hate myself a year from now for investing in pre-distressed gold sneakers with the glittery letters that I was born with, smacked on the sides of them? But then I told myself, inevitably you will get sick of everything eventually, which is really a more formal version of YOLO.

Essentially Price Per Wear or Price Per Other Options, pick your poison.

Why buy flowers per bouquet, when you can get a Marni flower of printed leather and silk crepe, that will never wilt or whine for water? Would your friends mock you for investing in sneakers? If you invest in this Jennifer Fisher gorilla ring, he will be judging your every move, all the time - just look at those eyes. Or maybe investing in dangling Dannijo gems are more practical? However if you're really about practicality, look no further than this vintage Jean Paul Gaultier unicorn printed silk vest and wear them with those actually extremely practical Rachel Comey loafers. While examining that unicorn print, it dawned on me that the price per goose vs. 3.1 Phillip Lim faux shirt tie skirt, that I lusted for since its' birth, is approximately the same. That's like choosing your favorite unborn child. Or you could bet all your cards and store them with your cash in Balenciaga or Proenza. Or if your less into walking and more into twisting your rhinestone encrusted ankles, then these Tibi mules are for you. All suitable options with a considerable amount of desire, but they really don't come close in terms of comparability.
So what will it be? Geese? No Geese?

In my last post I may have made a remark about frilly lace collared dresses, well nothing was more - Cydney what are you doing- when realizing that, post-hand-stitching the lace around the collar on this dress. I think this just goes to show how much my style varies dependent on my mood. While working 40+ hours per week I'm knocking down frivolous frocks and bright hues, then suddenly a week later (after my last day working for the summer) I'm making a hot pink silk dress with lace detailing... Regardless, I made this dress after debating between two Free People dresses, one of which was too long, and the other almost too short, thus it was time to DIY.

Hallelujah ~ I finally found a decent faux Balenciaga Ring Set via Forever 21

Spoke to my soul in a way none other has this season. The set up, the music, the textiles... All the prints were graphic enough to be graphic while still being so wearable. The statement eye sweatshirt is this years Kenzo tiger sweatshirt.

Many people on twitter were bashing the Celine plaid, while I was like "no, its the perfect little red riding hood cape" And if I ever get asked to go golfing, hunting, or  hiking in the forest, I'll wear the moss colored coat on the right. This mossy textured coat is like camouflage for certain outdoor/recreational activities, I'm sure thats what Phoebe Philo had in mind.

Grungy florals, statement sweatshirts, delicately ornamented skirts, Bambi Disney references, what more could you ask for?
Known for structured leather jackets, I wanted to show they have a broader spectrum that not many recognize. AKA Look at these beautifully draped skirts/dresses. Granted their jackets speak to me on a higher level, but they can do more than just that, and they proved it.

A few weeks ago I admitted defeat as I clicked on the Alexander Wang Donna bag at the Outnet. But this morning, oh how the tables turned. I was catching up on my various end of season sale emails and as a daily ritual began checking the Barneys sale for reduced-reduced prices new merch etc. AND THERE IT WAS, except in a beautiful hue of burgundy, I was not going to suffer from "Sold Out Syndrome" twice in one season, nope absolutely not. And let me tell you, dreams really do come true boys and girls. I can hardly wait until Donna arrives knocking on my door.

Edit: Donna is a beaut.

I highly believe in the mantra "Look good, Feel good, Do good" So in anticpation for finals, a quick little collage of a few things I need want in preparation of finals. In reality though, I will probably purchase as a reward if I do well, not as a crutch to brace studying/sanity on.

Included are things such as necessities like the Marc by Marc Jacobs flash drive, I have to store my papers and notes somewhere right? A slouchy casual cool Topshop sweater, in the perfect shade of emerald, paired with Rag & Bone Jeggings. I'm still obsessing over these denim Isabel Marant Sneaker Wedges and Floral Doc Martens, so those are included seeing as they are both comfortable and add to an otherwise basic outfit.

The accessories also play a crucial role in my fantasy finals outfit. The sunglasses, just in case the sun ever comes out. The Marc By Marc Jacobs Messenger Bag, seeing as its the perfect size for essentials needed for testing days, and it would be perfect as a carry on for the flight home too. The Finn Love Knot Ring as something to jitter around my finger while testing. The Barneys Red Fur, because the wind chill is frigid and a simple knit scarf may not do during the drastic days of finals.

And the last but not least, the teal coffee cup that smiles back, mainly because I foresee copious cups of coffee this week.
