Disclaimer - this is one part PSA to all males and other species who lack knowledge on Canadian Tuxedos, and two parts because I really am loving denim -particularly vests- right now, that is all continue on.

We'll throwback Thursday to a few weeks ago when a male who I went to high school with tweeted "I don't know much about fashion but my dad is wearing denim on denim and I know that isn't right" which I mentally replied with "see canadian tuxedo" "http://thecanadiantuxedo.com" or more simply "wrong - denim on denim is so very right"

But then I got to thinking... Brenda Walsh made this statement years before so why reiterate it through words merely expressing my thoughts on the matter as an opinion rather than a fact. So instead I sent him pictures of Brenda Walsh and all my other favorites in denim on denim, just kidding but really. Brenda not only mastered bangs AND a center part, but she, Dylan and many of their other cast members were major supporters of the Canadian Tuxedo.

So if Drew Barrymore and Brenda Walsh were wearing it in the 90's, Britney and K-Fed in the early 2000s, and Miroslava Duma and Leandra Medine are wearing it today...
than so much "wrong" must be right.

The only bad thing about working for free is the whole not being able to figure out what you're going to buy thing, seeing as well...you can't really buy anything. So am I already figuring out what I'm going to buy via my summer job? Absolutely.
First on the list: (in no particular order) Isabel Marant Patchwork Denim Jacket, (pictured above Etoile Isabel Marant Denim Shirt) It's not the same gem that I turned down at Beacons Closet, and I'll continue to ask myself why, why was I that idiot that turned down a $54 Isabel Marant jacket? Any who the Alexander Wang Kori Booties are perhaps at the tippytop of this wonderful list, as well as this collection of Rings ASOS, Tom Binns, Dannijo, Kenneth Jay Lane, and ASOS(again)

Okay. Okay. I know what you're thinking.
Am I actually considering paying over $500 for a pair of slightly distressed sneakers? yes.
LOOK AT THEM. Those beauties have dots, stripes, AND stars, and there is no price too high for patriotism. Sure, they better live up to a certain level of walking on clouds comfort, but really I can't get over the effortlessly perfect aspect of these Golden Goose Tricolor Sneakers.

In other news, eBay has further proved that it knows me perhaps better than I know myself. Case and Point, randomly suggesting this Rick Owens jacket to me. Dusty grey and olive ribbed velvet, with a dose of exaggerated collar pure perfection. (shown above is also Rick Owens via Pinterest

Dannijo Marilyn Bracelet. I'm particularly intrigued by Dannijo for their offerings of both short and long bracelet lengths. As a lad with small wrists, a few of my greatest fears consist of my bangles slipping off, breaking, or landing into a subway grate, all of which are very tragic.
A shorter length would simply wash away my fears.

Not only are these Alice & Olivia high waisted shorts, my current brand du jour but I feel like they would benefit multiple pieces I already own (see denim crop top, Prabal Gurung for Target wedges)

Are the horses coming? Well certainly not in Manhattan.
But seeing as the next four days have forecasted mid seventies... Can you say island living?
Either way Florence was right.
 Snapbacks  No. just snaps.

I've been mulling spring trends this week. I was expecting this week (aka spring break) to have me leaping into spring spirit, but I'm just not quite there yet. The weather was not warm enough for spring, but too warm for winter dressing. Upon shopping I kept asking myself
"what am I even looking for? I don't know what I want"

After careful thought/consideration I can say my Spring Top 5:
1. LOVING Denim everything. (well thats pretty basic... I said to myself) Patchwork, overalls, crop tops dresses etc. particularly with black and white pieces, along with some various pop of color. Also leaning toward lighter bleached denim, which I normally don't favor. This was basically my wardrobe combo for the entire week.
2. Coral and Baby Blue, partially because I fell in love twice with a pair of pale blue linen Acne shorts that would have rang up <$40.00, turns out they were three sizes too big and I was just too excited to check the size.
3. Dainty and not-so-dainty collars. Yes, both. I can't make up my mind (The Khai Khai 'Cloudy With a Chance of Rain, and Lulu Frost Demeter Collage Necklace are my reigning favs)
4. Cut out boots, I feel like the pair I recently purchased completely transformed my wardrobe.
5. Overalls, especially vintage, or of the Zara silk variety.

Kenzo Belt, Lulu Frost Demeter Collar, Simone Rochas Neon Embroidered Organza T-Shirt, 3.1 Philip Lim I Love NY T-Shirt (Nueva York, I love you), Zara Denim Patchwork Top  Sea NY Cotton Linen Stripe Shorts, Zara Printed Bermudas, Rachel Comey Acker with Holes, A Piece Apart Agnes Tank, Boticca Unicorn Ring

MiH Scalloped linen blend shorts, Alexander Wang Marti Bckpack, Olympia Le Tan Blouse, Lulus sunglasses, Zara neon flat sandal, Rebecca Minkoff Heart Stack Ring, Rebecca Minkoff Woven Box Bag, Zara beaded shorts (shout to Philip Lim), Lulu Frost code ring, Prada Sunglasses, Scotch & Soda Linen Safari Playsuit

Recently I've been infatuated by the idea of warm weather. Today it's cloudy with a chill in the wind and it's like last weekends wonderful weather was only just a dream (sing it Nelly)

I've also come to the conclusion that Spring in the city is not the same as spring in TX.
ex: I'd already be wearing shorts and sandals.

So spring time....
Topshop Bead Facet Bracelet, Topshop Aristole Chuncky Tassle Boot, Prabal Gurung x Target Drop Waist Dress, Marc By Marc Jacobs Rolled Slim Polka dot Jeans, Fashion Union Black Floral Skirt, Topshop Jewel Absail Bracelet, Keds Champion Dot Sneaker, LOST Wallice Vest,
 Sarah Aghili Flip Bar Sunglasses

And Summer. In sweltering heat and days spent at the lake, you want easy to throw on pieces, typically looser, and things that can even double as a swim suit cover up.
Jade & Belle Piper Lane Striped Crop Top, Zara multicolored Ethnic Necklace, Mini Rodini Flamingo Tee, Runwaydreamz 450 Vintage Frayed Studded Shorts, Topshop Moto 'Tommy' vintage overalls (@Nordstrom), Zara Ethnic Evening Bag, Zara Woven Bracelets, House of Harlow 1960 Abra Sandal

Moral of the story: Accessories are everything.

Last week I was on a major Opening Ceremony kick. Why? I obtained a dreamy denim crop top from Rihanna x River Island, FOR FREE. How? I was of the first ten people outside the Ace Hotel the morning of the collections launch, thus resulting in a $100 gift card. Rockin'.
So then after my satisfaction I was just like "OC rules" and made this collage.
Opening Ceremony sleeveless sweater, OC Fisherman Sandals, OC Rose Print Dress, Rihanna for River Island denim waist tie skirt (River Island or Opening Ceremony) Dannijo Lacey Cuff, OC Grunge Oxford, Delfina Delettrez 5 Eyes Bracelet, OC Grunge Sneakers, OC Tapered Seam Skirt.

Also: can't resist a blurry selfie showcasing the denim crop via photo booth
Also Also: Thoughts on ombre-ing my hair?
Also Also Also: "Also" is the new P.S
