I found that the Dillard's "Celebrate Dad!" Ad, was the perfect place to transcribe my thoughts on the many resort collections I looked through. Relevant no, but some how my scribbles praising the various designers juxtaposed with Dad golfing in the background provided a great mix. The collections, some with vast differences, and some with many similarities, were a clear indication of whats to come, stay and grow.
(Left 3.1 Philip Lim, Right Christian Dior)
A certain blue and orange (complimentary colors bold enough to make any middle school art teacher proud) color scheme was seen at 3.1 Philip Lim and Christian Dior. A moment of silence for Raf as he transforms modern femininity to a whole new level, yielding power through confidence. Secondly, a shout out to Philip Lim, boasting metallics with outer pockets, and proudly proclaiming "I am CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year" through his sleek new backpacks.
(Left Lela Rose, Right Altuzarra)
This round I also found myself drawn to pants. (this is a rarity). We'll start with Lela Rose which offered many of the printed variety some were cropped, fitted, flattering etc. And then We'll check in on Altuzarra, where a certian brand of slouchy loose fitting pants were born, unlike any before their time. Aside from these game changing pants, Altuzarra offered up tasteful cutouts that not even the fastest of fashion -I'm looking at you Zara- could mimic. In addition gold lame skirts, jumpsuits and gowns, that would make even P'trique proud.
(Left Marc By Marc Jacobs, Right Rag & Bone)
Coats Coats More Coats. Marc Jacobs re-captured my love through Marc By Marc Jacobs. A multitude of houndstooth, oversized, grey wool coats all proved to be functional for layering during those brutal winter months. While the multi-zip coat at Rag & Bone -reminiscent of a Burberry coat I still regret not purchasing at super discount via Nordstrom Rack- well, I didn't think coats could get much better than this, but it did when I saw said Rag & Bone coat - in red.

(Left Jill Stuart, Right Moschino Cheap & Chic)
Lastly, can we chat briefly on the Flower Power happening at both Jill Stuart and Moschino Cheap & Chic? Textures bloomed through the crop at Jill Stuart (har har flower puns) in the most perfect shade of pink. While Moschino offered a different Cali-cool-flower-power (never never say cali cool) through faux tie-dye and leather skirts (similar to those of Alice & Olivia), and a daisy print playful enough to match the Marc Jacobs fragrance, Daisy.

Recently I've been infatuated by the idea of warm weather. Today it's cloudy with a chill in the wind and it's like last weekends wonderful weather was only just a dream (sing it Nelly)

I've also come to the conclusion that Spring in the city is not the same as spring in TX.
ex: I'd already be wearing shorts and sandals.

So spring time....
Topshop Bead Facet Bracelet, Topshop Aristole Chuncky Tassle Boot, Prabal Gurung x Target Drop Waist Dress, Marc By Marc Jacobs Rolled Slim Polka dot Jeans, Fashion Union Black Floral Skirt, Topshop Jewel Absail Bracelet, Keds Champion Dot Sneaker, LOST Wallice Vest,
 Sarah Aghili Flip Bar Sunglasses

And Summer. In sweltering heat and days spent at the lake, you want easy to throw on pieces, typically looser, and things that can even double as a swim suit cover up.
Jade & Belle Piper Lane Striped Crop Top, Zara multicolored Ethnic Necklace, Mini Rodini Flamingo Tee, Runwaydreamz 450 Vintage Frayed Studded Shorts, Topshop Moto 'Tommy' vintage overalls (@Nordstrom), Zara Ethnic Evening Bag, Zara Woven Bracelets, House of Harlow 1960 Abra Sandal

Moral of the story: Accessories are everything.

If you ever found yourself wondering, "Why bother reading this, when there's actual fashion websites reporting from inside the shows, rather than outside..." well let me tell you, I can bring you inside the Fall 2013 Tibi show BEFORE Style.com. Which I'll admit, even I find a bit absurd.

Granted my pictures may not be of professional quality but hey, you have to improvise when your camera starts doing this right when the show starts...
Front Row at Tibi.
The show overall was phenomenal. From bright blue and green neoprene jackets and blazers, to causal cool black and white knits, I found myself loving every bit of it. This blurry blue leopard pony hair pullover and skirt were among my favorites.

While I am aware my pictures are blurs-galore, the attendees next to me also were complaining that the models were racing down the runway, so it was not just me. These were also all shot on my iPhone due to my unexpected camera issues.
Bomber jacket made by moi, T By Alexander Wang Sweatshirt, Zara Leggings, Hunter Boots, ASOS Turban Beanie, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Steve Madden Scarf, American Apparel Gloves.
Also major shout out to Uniqlo Heat-Tech.

Update: Style.com now has the Tibi show.

As stated in my previous post, I'm currently obsessing over bomber jackets. This here is the first of the two jackets I've made over winter break. We (being the jacket and I) had quite the little jaunt today, exploring this abandoned Christmas Village and canoodling with my latest love interest.

Chillin' in the Candy Shop, cue 50 Cent
The sales associate at Joann's fabric mocked me for choosing this bright orange polka dot lining for my jacket, but you know what, lets not be dull theres nothing wrong with a little pop of color.
My latest love interest. Yes, he's a bit older than I, but he's not going anywhere any time soon.
His and Hers shoe details.

The jacket I constructed with fabrics from Mood, Golden D'or, and Joanns, T by Alexander Wang french terry pullover, See Thru Soul jeans found at Nordstrom, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Forever 21 glitter and nude oxfords (Similar here), H&M aviators.

For a while, I was on the hunt for sneaker wedges, I looked everywhere for them. Then I was over it, I questioned myself if I would even wear them, and convinced myself that they were on their way out anyways.  However these Marc By Marc Jacobs Neon Cutout Sneaker Wedges, have brought this breed of shoe back into my heart in every way possible.

One of my qualms with sneaker wedges was there masculinity. Now I'm not saying a wedge is masculine, but the of colors that they come in and the often bold velcro basketball-like straps, were some what boyish. These fill the void in my heart the marketplace. They're bright, and these cut outs are one of a kind. (well so far, this is definitely going to catch on for spring)

Every little girl used to want Barbie jeeps and Barbie pink, well now all those girls just want Marc Jacobs, but Barbs would totally wear these.

I highly believe in the mantra "Look good, Feel good, Do good" So in anticpation for finals, a quick little collage of a few things I need want in preparation of finals. In reality though, I will probably purchase as a reward if I do well, not as a crutch to brace studying/sanity on.

Included are things such as necessities like the Marc by Marc Jacobs flash drive, I have to store my papers and notes somewhere right? A slouchy casual cool Topshop sweater, in the perfect shade of emerald, paired with Rag & Bone Jeggings. I'm still obsessing over these denim Isabel Marant Sneaker Wedges and Floral Doc Martens, so those are included seeing as they are both comfortable and add to an otherwise basic outfit.

The accessories also play a crucial role in my fantasy finals outfit. The sunglasses, just in case the sun ever comes out. The Marc By Marc Jacobs Messenger Bag, seeing as its the perfect size for essentials needed for testing days, and it would be perfect as a carry on for the flight home too. The Finn Love Knot Ring as something to jitter around my finger while testing. The Barneys Red Fur, because the wind chill is frigid and a simple knit scarf may not do during the drastic days of finals.

And the last but not least, the teal coffee cup that smiles back, mainly because I foresee copious cups of coffee this week.
