"It's my manifestation board, I use it for inspiration, like when I'm not feeling inspired.
Just like look at the board. We should make one together."

For my Creative Fashion Presentations class we've been given the assignment to pick and present about out favorite fashion icon, without disclosing their name or pictures until the end. Here are some collages  I've made inspired by my icon.

Can you guess who it is?

The final part to my Bomber Jackets posts (unless the one I ordered from Forever 21 begs for a photo) This is by far my favorite trend of the moment, they can be worn now or later with pastel jeans and sweaters for spring. Be sure to check out Who What Wear's video on different ways of styling bomber jackets.
Sharing a laugh and nod of approval with some conspicuous characters.

Theres actually a brief story behind these pups. I've had them since I was in 5th grade, when Converse were the latest and greatest craze, circa 2005. I grew up in a Nordies household, aka my parents seemed to only shop at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack. Neither of which carried Converse, so I chose the closest thing I could find, which happened to be these Marc Jacobs suede leather sneakers. At the time I had no idea who Marc Jacobs was, or that almost a decade later I would continue to praise my ten year old self for her superior selection.

And yes, I'm still the same shoe size as I was when I was ten.

Then I said, "Why don't I go laugh and be jolly by that dumpster"

Jacket made myself with fabrics from Golden D'or, Zara Sweater (bought awhile ago, similar here), See Thru Soul jeans found at Nordstrom, Alexander Wang Donna Bag, Marc Jacobs sneakers (similar here and these are just really rad). MAC Lip Cream Color Base in 'Movie Star Red'.

As stated in my previous post, I'm currently obsessing over bomber jackets. This here is the first of the two jackets I've made over winter break. We (being the jacket and I) had quite the little jaunt today, exploring this abandoned Christmas Village and canoodling with my latest love interest.

Chillin' in the Candy Shop, cue 50 Cent
The sales associate at Joann's fabric mocked me for choosing this bright orange polka dot lining for my jacket, but you know what, lets not be dull theres nothing wrong with a little pop of color.
My latest love interest. Yes, he's a bit older than I, but he's not going anywhere any time soon.
His and Hers shoe details.

The jacket I constructed with fabrics from Mood, Golden D'or, and Joanns, T by Alexander Wang french terry pullover, See Thru Soul jeans found at Nordstrom, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Forever 21 glitter and nude oxfords (Similar here), H&M aviators.

For a while, I was on the hunt for sneaker wedges, I looked everywhere for them. Then I was over it, I questioned myself if I would even wear them, and convinced myself that they were on their way out anyways.  However these Marc By Marc Jacobs Neon Cutout Sneaker Wedges, have brought this breed of shoe back into my heart in every way possible.

One of my qualms with sneaker wedges was there masculinity. Now I'm not saying a wedge is masculine, but the of colors that they come in and the often bold velcro basketball-like straps, were some what boyish. These fill the void in my heart the marketplace. They're bright, and these cut outs are one of a kind. (well so far, this is definitely going to catch on for spring)

Every little girl used to want Barbie jeeps and Barbie pink, well now all those girls just want Marc Jacobs, but Barbs would totally wear these.

One of these things is not like the other.. (sung to the reminiscent childhood tune of Sesame Street)
As seen through many of my own past experiences, its highly habitual that I always seem to want what I can't have. Its more desirable, and you just seem to long for it constantly... sort of like that Red Rocco that I spoke of previously or the Purple Haze Alexander Wang bag.

These shoes, much like me, beg to be worn with anything contradicting to what is expected of them, rid them of their grungy-clunky selves. Throw some white embroidered flowing shorts on, with some polka dot socks, or maybe even a floral velvet tunic paired with opaque black leggings."Dress me up, wear me out, and let me be seen to my full glory!" the Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane Boots desperately shout. The opportunities for these little guys are endless.

But can we first back up a hot second and talk about how IDENTICAL these look to the Balenciaga Buckle Ankle Boot? (which can be spotted in the middle of the bottom row) The Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane boot sings a soulful melody to my bank account, seeing as the Balenciaga Boots would clearly be in the "things I cannot afford have category"

(From Left to Right)

*Edit: Since originally posting this the Purple Haze bag has drastically gone on sale, thank the Barney's angels
**Edit 2.0: The Coltrane's really just aren't the same as the Balenciaga Boots. No. Not at All. The Balenciaga Boots are beauts, and now I just think of them the same, seeing as the girl that lives next to  stomps around in the Coltranes in a grungy lonely girl way, and not in an exciting yellow motorcycle boot kind of way. So needless to say I'm proud of my ability to withstand the draw of the boots.

I pictured us strolling through central park together, stopping to admire the snow or the colorful fall leaves, gently falling. I pictured us together arm in arm iceskating, or strutting down 5th Ave, admiring the store windows together. We'd ring in the new year and you'd never leave my side. From uptown, to downtown, baby we would do it all.

And then abruptly, the picturesque life we would live, suddenly ceased it's existence. Leaving my heart crumbling, how could this be happening, The Donna Alexander Wang bag sold out quicker than the swipe of my heart card. It was so close, I'd already plotted all these glorious outfits and outings around the bag.

This one just felt so real. It wasn't like the Red Rocco that I know I can't afford. Donna would've been a steal. I felt like I was already opening it on Christmas morning, and pridefully walking through the airport on my way back to the city.

Nope. SOLD OUT. The words that made my heart burn, as little trickily tears welled in my eyes. No tears have been shed over this process, but Donna and Mr Wang, certainly put me on an emotional roller coaster this morning. And the grieving period will likely be lengthy.
