A few weeks ago a friend and I were on the topic of Babushkas, and as temperatures continue to remain lower than I would like, this seems like an appropriate time to continue the conversation. Even though I'm pretending it's much colder and drearier than it actually is, I'm not being facetious when stating these ladies seem like a tenacious breed. With the cloaking and simple tying of knot, it seemingly gives them wings to withstand any and all elements they may endure. Expressionless and and numb to all emotion, eventuating in a sense of vogue no matter what era.

When searching for these images I also came across this which could not go unshared.

Despite the sun shining over southern skies, the temperature has consistently remained below freezing and where many in the northeast are hiding under blankets and blankets of snow courtesy of Hercules, there would be no better time then to display only images evoking SPRING FEVER. Slowly consider coming out of your black on black cocoon in the months approaching, but never fear do not contemplate cutting off your eyelashes, or leaving the comfort of your heated blanket, we'll just pretend spring is here or near.

Music gives us the ability to retain the smallest of vivid memories, almost better than pictures, which later through our imagination allow us to create images within our minds. A few days ago, I heard On the Sea by Beach House while I was in the car on the highway at night with my brother. The sky was flooded with clouds making the most ominous sense of darkness diluted only by the grey foreground; it was calmly illuminated by a soft yellow haze in the distance. Last night the same image of the sky appeared in my dreams, only as the beginning of a runway show, to the same tune. Projected onto a large concrete wall were my mental images of the dark sky. A single spot light appeared on the models, whom languidly traipsed down the runway, slowly as if they were lost. From my perspective, the models appeared to be walking into oblivion. The runway was long and ended with the models disappearing into a darkened exit - the reverse of where they began. The clothing seemed to be oriental inspired, with metallics, jacquards, boxy skirts, and ruffles that fluttered in the wind. To complete my show, after three long pale peach organza gowns, I rode side saddle on the back of a llama, smug and expressionless, down the runway. After my exit the song ended in a buzz, with complete darkness coming over the room. I'll never know if people clapped or not because I woke up, but I've been replaying the show all day inside my head.

While normally I'm plagued with the desire to wear all black, 50 shades of olive, or all denim in an ode to my canadian heritage, lately I've been fevered (literally - I'm ill) with white, all white everything. The thing is, I'm prone to spilling things and really don't trust myself to buy anything white, especially expensive and white, it's just a heartbreak waiting to happen. I went through a slump of hating myself for buying inevitably the same garments over and over again, so on black friday I bought white Isabel Marant jeans courtesy of Barneys Warehouse. They went from triple digits to double digits and claimed to be unlike anything else I own. They're wide leg, so roomy, and made for a mammoth - which is good, because I need to have them tailored as well as figure out what in the world I'm going to wear with them. So in the meantime...
