Drake & PFW

Since we're done Keeping Up With Kanye (pun completely intentional) in Milan, it only means it's time for Paris and who better (besides Kanye) than Drake to bring in the glitziest of spring fashion from the city of light?
Mainly because I've looked at Dries Van Noten too many times - if too many times were even possible, regardless I will continue to look on endlessly. It encompassed many things that I feel very strongly about: rich colors, ethnic detailing, ruffles, pilgrim boho blouses, fringe, florals with ruffles, metallic, metallic with pleated ruffles...ruffles. The entire collection just got better and better as it progressed.

Drake asked, "what's a life with no fun? please don't be so ashamed" But what I purpose to you is: what's a life without extra large fur tuffets and beaded feathers dangling off of your clothing? (Please don't be so ashamed.) The lingerie inspired dresses acted as a basic within this collection that was so heavily embellished. Sharon Wauchob really mastered the perfect balance between adornment and wearability.

He's wearing Rochas, duh. (He probably has the fringy-floppy big bird inspired shoes too) Rochas was like a modern fairytale, pleated lamé, pastels, full organza skirts, and metallic brocades for all. Ultimately if Snow White and Zooey Deschanel, were attending the same tea party in Paris, they would both definitely be wearing Rochas. (count Drake in for tea as well.)

While Alexander Wang was never really on the bottom, he is definitely here now. The jackets, were very Cristobal Balenciaga,  classic and safe yet modern through the braided detailing. Tinges of Wang are starting to come through in Balenciaga, like crop sheer muscle tank, and the outside zipper detailing on the skirts. Experimenting with more color, and textures than his previous collection I can't wait to see what he brings next season.

Rick Owens who was inspired by step dancing, incorporated 40 step dancers to show of his collection. The models were synchronized, clapping, stomping and whipping their hair back and forth. The performance was considerably memorable, and I have never seen anything of it's kind. As for the collection, I can say I am digging those dangling pom-poms, as well as the shoes with the white buckle, which seem to be the Marc Jacobs Pilgrim shoe and Nike Free Run melded together.
