Kanye & MFW

They're coming Yeezus, they're coming. Moschino is bringing more than just croissants this season, and while at times a bit overdone, many of the pieces here were done just right. The models going down the runway in pairs of two that represented a sense of rebellion vs traditional provided contrast amongst the pieces and showed the variety throughout the collection.

Because Marni might take a little bit to soak in. The textures, the prints, the embellished sporty platform sandals... This show just got better and better as it progressed, and as I re-clicked over and over taking in the small details I'd previously missed. In addition to sporty-dweeby-chic sandals, can we now speculate that visors may definitely be a spring necessity?
While I'm not sure if the Prada fur coat above is indeed Chewbacca, I am sure that there are two eggs over Yeezy located on both shoulders. Elaborate ornamentation, a certain athletic appeal and the artistry involved throughout the show was at first overwhelming. It became clear that the collection was drawn from a wide variety of inspiration that was combined to produce a show entirely of its own kind.

As much as I love the ornate over the top nature that Dolce & Gabbana never fails to produce, this collection seemed to be part II of their Fall 2013 show after a long awaited intermission. This time around it was just with different colors and a few small tinges of change, to an audience who already had a certain degree of familiarity. Take the collection at face value, the detailing is incredible, and the dresses are beautiful; but with as small of an eye for detailing as they have, they couldn't have missed the mark on how close this was to the last collection they showed. So what Kanye and I'm trying to say is: Dolce & Gabbana is following their own steps a little too closely.
